Timothy Clayton King, 65, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. King was born Sept. 9, 1957, in Peoria, to Verrol and Laura (Gladson) King.

He earned his GED and joined the U.S. Army at a young age. He later worked as a machinist for Echlin. After his time at Echlin, he went on to work as a carpenter and project manager for Best Builders in Litchfield for over 20 years.

Mr. King loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included watching John Wayne and football. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and liked to fish and camp. 

He loved taking his dog, Ozzie, for rides and always had some sort of project he was working on. He was a very hard worker all of his life.

Mr. King is survived by his daughters, Haley (Mike) Wells of Coffeen, Hollie (Ryan) Phillips of Hillsboro and Angela (David) Coulter of Litchfield; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Mark (Nina) King of Virden and Verroll King of Litchfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
