Helen E. (Catalano) Thomas, 66, of Witt, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at her residence.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home, and burial will be in Irving Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born on April 7, 1958 in Springfield to Joe and Alice (Vaniter) Catalano. She was a graduate of Lanphier High School in Springfield and later cosmetology school. She married Ronald Thomas on Sept. 26, 1981 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1996.
Mrs. Thomas was a hairdresser in Springfield for many years before becoming a home health caregiver. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children, Ronald Thomas Jr. of Irving, Nicholas Thomas of Irving, Corrine Settles of Springfield and Kimberly McCarty of Irving; grandchildren, Eli Eugene Thomas, Amelia Nicole Thomas, Waylon Kristopher Thomas, Haley Sonneborn and Anna McGuire; and four brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald; son, Jerimah Thomas in 1982; three brothers; and seven sisters.
