Melba Mae Wiseman, 97, of Nokomisdied on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will begin at 12 noon on Thursday, Jan. 19, at the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the of time of service. Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home of Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wiseman was born on July 3, 1925, in Greenwood Township to Albert and Anna Mae (Bangert) Schneider. She was a graduate of Nokomis High School and attended one year of college. She and Kenneth “Kenny” Clark Wiseman were married Aug. 20, 1949, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2021.
She was a hairdresser and a homemaker. She and her husband started the Nokomis Ambulance in 1973. She is a member of the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. She and her late husband spent many years enjoying their retirement at Reflections on Silver Lake in Florida.
Mrs. Wiseman is survived by a daughter, Kay (Dennis) Plozizka of Nokomis; sons, Clark, Mark and Kent Wiseman of Nokomis; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Weiss, Jillian (Tim) Ulrici, Derek Plozizka, Taylor Wiseman Moran, Tanner (Erin) Wiseman; great-grandchildren, Adriyanna Moran, Cameron Moran, Tessa Wiseman, Trevyn Wiseman and Everly Wiseman; sisters, Eleanor (Ed) Ovca of Taylorville, and Virginia Wernsing of Raymond.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Schneider and Harold Schneider; and two sisters, Vivian Hawker and Lois Jostes.
