Karen “Nadene” Lawson, 82, of Walshville, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 7 a.m. at her residence.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rudy Elam officiating. Burial will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.

Mrs. Lawson was born April 27, 1940, in Litchfield, to Russell and Vivian (Osburn) Hemken. She married George Leonard “Bill” Law in 1956, and they later divorced in 1962. She married Oley E. Lawson on Sept. 21, 1964, and he survives.

She attended Walshville Grade School and Litchfield High School. During her career, she was employed at Hillsboro Glass, CPC/Rexcel, Barry Care Center, and was a loving homemaker.

Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Walshville Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, camping and swimming. A lover of animals, she especially enjoyed her dogs. She especially cherished time spent with her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Deborah Schroedel, Gary W. (Christy) Law, Ronald B. (Peggy) Law, Rhonda (Brad) Massey, Carla (Mike) Marshall and Darla (Bill) Sykes; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dr. Brenda Hemken.

Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Joanne Cartwright; son, Jerry Russell Law; and two great-grandsons, Landon Michael Lawrence and Oakley Allen Petcher.
