John Edward Pickett, 70, of Gillespie, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at 4:38 a.m. at Carlinville Area Hospital.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Pickett was born May 31, 1952, in Litchfield, to William and Isabelle (Murray) Pickett. He married Linda Pickett, and they later divorced.
He was a retired auto salesman.
Mr. Pickett is survived by his children, Jaimi (Jay) Reid and Jennifer Pickett, both of Gillespie; grandchildren, Aiyanna Taylor, Davian Taylor, Paxton Reid, Jiles Lyons Jr., Atlen Lyons and Haze Berisa; siblings, Jim (Carolyn) Pickett and David (Pam) Pickett, both of Gillespie, and Dan Pickett of St. Louis, MO; and former wife, Linda Pickett of Gillespie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marianne Altevogt.
