Roger Glenn Nessl, 77, of Gillespie, died on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, at 5:20 a.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Nessl was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Saint Louis, MO, to John Dean Nessl, Sr. and Juanita Langley Nessl. He married Sharon Kay Garrett Nessl on Dec. 31,1966, in Bunker Hill, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2024.
Mr. Nessl was a retired crane operator for Olin, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army after having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Gillespie Bass Club. He enjoyed bowling.
Mr. Nessl is survived by his children, Travis (significant other, Vickie Watson) Nessl of Gillespie and Melinda (Scott) Roeske of Gillespie; grandchildren, Sebastian Nessl, Blaine Nessl, Zachary Roeske, Trinity Roeske and Ryley Nessl; great-grandchild, Eli Roeske; siblings, Deanna D. Heisman of Litchfield, Gordon (Irene) Nessl of Litchfield and Keith D. (Kimberly) Nessl of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; and brother, John Dean Nessl, Jr.
