Linda Plegge, 75, died at 8:53 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto on Saturday, May 4. Pastor Kale Hanson and Pastor Willard Meyer officiated. Burial followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto assisted the family.
Mrs. Plegge was born on Aug. 23, 1948, in Litchfield, the daughter of John and Bernadine (Gregg) Flynn. She married Kenneth R. Plegge at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto on Oct. 10, 1970, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2019.
She was an office manager for Country Companies for many years before retiring from Ft. Russel Township. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto for many years and enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, baking, family holidays and family vacations. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Plegge is survived by her children, Pamela (Eric) Kleckner of Staunton, Jeanne (Jeff) Schultz of Godfrey and David (Nicole) Plegge of Glen Carbon; grandchildren, Seth Kleckner, Ryan Kleckner, Megan Schultz, Brent Schultz, Mia Plegge and Kate Plegge; brother, Harold (Mary) Flynn of Ramond; sister-in-law, Alice Gunderson of Bethalto; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John (Pat) Flynn and Rick Flynn; and brother-in-law Loren Gunderson.
Memorials may be left to Zion Lutheran School of Bethalto and/or Zion Lutheran School of Staunton.
