Donna May Vogel, 86, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:50 p.m., at Greenville Nursing and Rehab in Greenville.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The Rev. Rudy Elam, pastor of Walshville Baptist Church in Walshville, will officiate.  Burial will be in Donnellson Cemetery.

Mrs. Vogel was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Sorento, to the late Clarence “Bud” File and Estella “May” (McGilvary) File.  She married Leo Miller and they later divorced. She then married Burl Vogel, on June 26, 1982, in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2024.  Mrs. Vogel loved to fish, go mushroom hunting and she had bowled on leagues at Hillsboro Bowl for many years.

Mrs. Vogel is survived by her children, Melody (husband, Troy) White of Coffeen, Randy (wife, Pat) Miller of Bunker Hill and Mark (wife, Alice) Miller of Lansing, KS, stepson, Mark Vogel of Denver, CO, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and siblings, David “Bobby” (wife, Lou) File of Wordon, Donald “Buster” (wife, Donna) File of Vandalia, Gary File of Sorento and Judy Dunn of Litchfield.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by step-son, Burl Vogel, Jr., and siblings, Ida Titsworth, Fern Cooley Johnson, June Carter, Norma “Annie” Booth, Albert File, Loyd “Muggie” File and Ronald File.
