David Wayne Hampton, 59, of Litchfield, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Mr. Hampton was born April 25, 1965, in Litchfield, a son of Allen “Al” Clyde and Betty Jean (Gooden) Hampton. He was employed in end-of-line production at Dometic in Litchfield.
Mr. Hampton enjoyed reading, especially sci-fi and mysteries, watching movies and Unsolved Mysteries, stock cars and watching drag racing. He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Litchfield.
Mr. Hampton is survived by his three brothers, Michael A. (Shirley) Hampton of Litchfield, James W. Hampton of Carlinville and Larry D. Hampton of Litchfield; two sisters, Gloria J. Naughton of Fremont, NE, and Susan M. Hosto of Oelwein, IA; and his partner, Sally Scoggins of Carlinville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, on Dec. 15, 2009; father, Al on April 11, 2019; and brothers-in-law Alan Naughton and Larry Hosto.
Services will be held at a later date.
