David L. Scott, 77, of Nokomis, died May 18, 2024 at 10:52 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. A walk through for the Law Enforcement and EMS Communities will be held at 6 p.m. Those members taking part are to assemble at the Raymond Baptist Church, located at 511 E. Broad St. in Raymond.
Mr. Scott was born on March 12, 1947, in Hillsboro. He married Theresa Pillars-Langford and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy and dedicated his life to serving others. He retired from Graham Correction as lieutenant after 20 years of service. He had worked for 13 years the City of Nokomis Police Dept. serving as sergeant and was a EMT for the Nokomis Witt Area Ambulance Service for many years. He had served as chief of Schram City and worked for Witt Police Dept. for a period of time.
Mr. Scott enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, being outdoors NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Scott is survived by his stepchildren, Amy Stiner of Sullivan and Justin (Shannon) Langford of Bloomington; grandchildren Lexus, Zoey, Preston, Caven, Boston and Kasten; brother Charles Casey of Hillsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Ollie H. Light Scott; and two brothers and three sisters.
