Charles N. “Buck” White, 85, of Coffeen, died Wednesday, May 29, at 1:15 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab in Taylor Springs.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, from 10 to 11 a.m at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen.
Mr. White was born on Jan. 21, 1939, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Wilbur W. and Mima Jane (Lyerla) White and stepfather Jake Holloway. He graduated from Hillsboro High School, and lived in the Coffeen-Hillsboro area his entire life. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Candice Martin, and they later divorced. He then married Cynthia “Cyndy” Mueller,and she preceded him in death. He worked as an operating engineer for the Local #520, and was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen.
Mr. White is survived by his sons, Walter C. Martin and Mark J. (Cindy) Martin; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and siblings Russell M. White, Joy Ann White, both in infancy, David “Crockett” White and Jimmie Dean White.
