Wilbur Anthony “Tony” Moore, 86, of Nokomis, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Coffeen United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kathy Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Moore was born in Springfield on Oct. 9, 1939, a son of William Paul and Anna Mae (Newell) Moore. He was a member of the graduating class of 1958 from Hillsboro High School. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Army and held memberships in the United Methodist Church of Coffeen and Masonic Lodge #51.
Mr. Moore was employed as a coal miner at the Coffeen mine, a jailer at the Montgomery County Jail and as a farmer. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed being outdoors gardening and working in the yard.
Mr. Moore is survived by his sons, Kenny (companion Jamie) Moore, Phil (Mary Jo) Moore, Glenn (Trina) Moore and Wade Moore; grandchildren, Aaron Moore, Mindy (John) Bargielski and Annie (Jason) Barrington; great-grandchildren, Ross, Ruby, Morgan and Mason; and siblings, Paula (Gene) Redman, Linda Raines, Jim (Barbara) Moore, and Joyce (Gary) Zerrusen.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Moore; brother, Larry Moore; brother-in-law Bob Raines; and special companion, Sharon Clark.
