Royanne Ruth (Reed) Loucks, 87, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor Springs.
A private family graveside service at Clear Springs Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, is planned.
Mrs. Loucks was born on May 10, 1938, in Minneapolis, MN, to Richard and Sonja (Solstad) Reed. She graduated from high school in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota.
She married Clarence Alva Loucks in Minneapolis on Oct. 22, 1960, and he survives. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.
Before and after marriage, Mrs. Loucks did secretarial work for the United States government and private firms. Supporting her husband’s FDA career, they lived in Minneapolis, MN; New Orleans, LA; Cherry Hill, NJ; and Rockville, MD, before retiring to their farm near Hillsboro.
Among Mrs. Loucks’ most beloved and appreciated activities was doing huge amounts of Christmas baking, especially items reflecting her Norwegian heritage. She also enjoyed playing the piano and sewing.
Mrs. Loucks is survived by her husband; daughter, Laura Quinn; granddaughter, Haley Nail; grandsons, Bobby Quinn, Austin Quinn, and Kyle Nail; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Heidi, Dashiel, Ruth, and Callaghan Quinn.
