Illinois Route 185 between Hillsboro and Coffeen will be re-opened this afternoon, Wednesday, July 3, sometime between 4 and 5 p.m.
One lane of the highway will be open to through traffic with stoplights set up control the traffic flow.
Chad Fuson of Patton Mining confirmed the highway will be re-opened on July 3. It has been closed since a sinkhole was discovered Thursday, April 11.
Fuson added the crews have been working to ensure the safety of the road open to traffic, which will be 600-feet from the sinkhole. The Illinois Department of Transportation will inspect the road before it is officially open to through traffic.
