Robert Morgan ‘Bob’ Raines, 76, of Trenton, died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

There are no arrangements planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be held in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wolfersberger Funeral Home in O’Fallon.

Mr. Raines was born on Sept. 6, 1949. He graduated high school in Beaumont, TX, and went on to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy.

After graduating from the Academy, Mr. Raines trained for and became a helicopter pilot and served this country for 25 years, traveling all over the U.S. and foreign countries. Mr. Raines retired with the rank of colonel. He was a true patriot and loved this country.

Mr. Raines loved working his farm, fishing and hunting at his farm and in his beloved state of Texas. He was a proud native of the great state of Texas. He was an incredibly active man, having run eight marathons, several kayak races (one being 340 miles), bicycle races in several states and a Half Ironman triathlon.

Mr. Raines was a good friend to many and helped so many during his Air Force career and his life as a civilian. He will be missed by so many, but especially his wife and family. A life well-lived, just ended too soon.

Mr. Raines is survived by his wife, Linda ‘Lin’ Moore Raines; son, Chad (Erinn) and stepson, Todd (Julie) Stone; grandchildren, Payton Stone, Gabrielle Stone and Parker Raines; siblings, Jack (Fara), Mike (Janet), Sandy (Tommy) and Pat; brother- and sisters-in-law, Wilbur (Tony) Moore, Paula and Gene Redman, Jim Moore and Barbara Adams and Joyce and Gary Zerrusen; cousin, Joanne (Oscar); many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dan Groeschen, Steve Tucker and Jerry and Janet Compton.
