Robert Kelly Kenney, 75, of Hillsboro, died Mon., Nov. 23, 2025, at his home.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
Mr. Kenney was born on May 14, 1950, in Hillsboro to the late James Edward and Patty Elizabeth (Bliss) Kenney.
Mr. Kenney had been a self-employed painter. He was a fun-loving people person who had many friends locally and scattered across the country. For many years he was very active in the local 12-step community. He took great satisfaction in his sobriety and how he had changed his life. Mr. Kenney was very loyal to one group in particular, chairing that meeting for many years.
Mr. Kenney is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Charlene Kenney of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Linda Hamilton Kenney of Coffeen; nieces and nephews, Linda Seaborne, Daniel Kenney, Clinton Kenney and Patricia Marie (Toby) Beard; great-nieces and nephews, Nora (Zack) Kenney, Tristin Kenney, Sara Kenney, Shane Rowan, Ivana Kenney, Nakoa Kenney, Anakin Kenney, Tyler Beard and Devon Beard; and great-great nieces and nephews, Leo, Eli and Kai.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kenney was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bliss Kenney.
