Mary Kathryn “Mary Kay” (Knebel) Miller, 63, of Collinsville, died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Herr Funeral Home, located at 501 West Main St. in Collinsville. A mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, with internment at Saint John Cemetery in Collinsville.
Mrs. Miller was born July 10, 1961 in East St Louis to George J. Knebel and Marie A. (Whittaker) Knebel. A 1979 graduate of Collinsville High School, she worked as office manager for several companies including cash officer at The Belleville News Democrat. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church of Collinsville.
Mrs. Miller loved her family and always welcomed people into her home especially her children’s friends and teammates. She loved camping, fishing, singing around the campfire, watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and the Green Bay Packers.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, John G. Miller of Panama; her children Abby (Beau) Elam of Collinsville, Matt (Jill) Miller of Edwardsville and Joshie (Amanda) Miller of Maryville; seven brothers and sisters, Mike (Dolly) Knebel, Ebby Knebel, Connie (John) Galvin, Andy (Kim) Knebel, Peggy (Greg) Steinbrueck, David (Janet) Knebel and Dawn (Gary) Elwood; and nine grandchildren, Austin, Brett, Drake, Blake, Nolan, Brody, Barin, Jackson and Amelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lynda M. Knebel and Diane “Dee” Felty; sister-in-law Debra Knebel; and nieces Cassandra “Casey” Wendler and Lisa Knebel.
