Alisa Mae Salsi, 62, of Rosamond, died Sept. 6, 2024, in her home surrounded by family.
Cremation rites are to be accorded, per Mrs. Salsi’s wishes. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, beginning at 4 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of Nokomis, located at 219 N Oak St. Nokomis. Memorials in Alisa’s honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Salsi was born June 5, 1962, in Taylorville, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Eilers) Barding. She married Steve Salsi on April 7, 1990, at the Rosamond Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Salsi was a Pana High School graduate, before later attending Capitol City Nursing School. She worked as a nurse at the health care center in Graham Correctional Center for 27.5 years before she retired in 2011.
Mrs. Salsi was well known for her hospitality, always having her door and home open to everyone. She was a member of the Eagles in Pana. Mrs. Salsi was a mother to all that met her. She was a follower of Jesus, and she loved raising and caring for her flock of chickens. Mostly, she loved and cherished her family.
Mrs. Salsi is survived by her husband, Steve Salsi; children Jessica (Matthew) Saunders and Arthur Salsi,both of Rosamond; granddaughter, Madison “Bug” Saunders of Rosamond; and sisters, Anita (Howard) Buoy of Herrick, Amy (Kevin) Christian of Oconee and April Sheddon of Nokomis.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.
