Martha Ann Hadley, 77, of Witt, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A visitation for Ms. Hadley will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. A private family funeral service will be held and burial will be in the Witt Cemetery.
Ms. Hadley was born on January 18, 1949, in Hillsboro, the daughter of late William and Lois (Eddington) Hadley. She graduated from Witt High School in 1967 and immediately joined the Illinois Secretary of State in Springfield. She retired in the late 1990s, having earned the prestigious Employee of the Year award during her career.
She was best known for her beautiful smile, a warm and loving heart and her wonderful cooking and baking. She enjoyed family gatherings, trips with co-workers and spending time with her friends, but she especially cherished her many nieces and nephews, never getting enough of holding and cuddling her great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ms. Hadley is survived by her sister, Rosalie King of Witt; her brother, Keith Hadley (Anita) of Witt; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Herman.
Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
