Kevin H. Kahl, 71, of Witt, died peacefully at home on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.
As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
Mr. Kahl was born on April 19, 1954, in Lincoln. On April 1, 2002, he married the love of his life, Lucy Kahl, in Shelbyville.
He practiced law as an attorney for over 40 years. After retiring from law, Mr. Kahl began a second career as a truck driver for McLeod, a job he loved and took great pride in.
Mr. Kahl was actively involved in the Nokomis Sportsman Club, ABATE, the NRA, and the Illinois State Bar. He was a proud supporter of gun rights. He also enjoyed fishing, was an avid hunter and loved spending time outdoors. He also had a deep passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the freedom of the open road.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Kahl is survived by his wife, Lucy; his stepson, Jordan Michael Hill of Witt; his sister, Karen Boone of Butte, MT; his aunt, Barbara Kahl of Jacksonville; and his nephew, Evan Boone of Tupelo, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
