Janet Nadine Beagley, 94, of Litchfield, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at 12:55 a.m., at Litchfield Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. Funeral serrvices will begin at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Massey-Brown officiating. Burial and Committal service will be at 2 p.m. at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Centralia. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Born Oct. 22, 1931, in Centralia, the only child of Frank Samuel and Leetha Lewis (Davis) Beagley, Ms. Beagley graduated from Centralia Township High School in 1949. She attended Centralia Township Junior College and graduated with an associate of arts and certificte in liberal arts in 1951. She then attended Eastern Illinois State College and graduated with a bachelor of science in education in 1953 and on to the University of Denver with a master of arts in library science in 1959. She was the librarian at Litchfield Community High School for several years, until her retirement in 1992.
She was a longtime member of the Union Avenue Christian Church of Litchfield and had served in various positions and committees over the years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Ms. Beagley is survived by several cousins, her church family and trusted friend and caregiver, Scherryl (Rick) Sarver.
