Gary G. Robertson, 75, of Mt. Olive, died at 6:44 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at his residence.
Services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Robertson was born in Hillsboro on Sept. 26, 1950, to Don Robertson and Annabelle (Simmons) Robertson. He attended Hillsboro Grade School and graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1968. He enrolled at MacMurray College in 1968 and graduated in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree.
Mr. Robertson married Janet S. (Haberman) Robertson in Hillsboro on Nov. 23, 1972.
Mr. Robertson served in the United States Air Force from 1972 until 1976. After serving in the military, he worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the AMVETS and the American Motorcyclist Association.
After retirement, Mr. Robertson and his wife enjoyed traveling the country, especially on his Honda Shadow motorcycle. In recent years, one could find them out for a cruise on their Can-Am Spyder. In his leisure time, Mr. Robertson enjoyed reading good books, motorcycle magazines and newspapers. He also enjoyed golfing, watching his grandson’s sports, good movies, music, food and gatherings with great friends.
Mr. Robertson was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Janet S. Robertson; daughter, Julie A. Robertson; son, Andrew M. (Alecia) Robertson; twin brother, Larry D. (Lee) Robertson; and grandson, Tyler J. Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don H. Robertson; mother, Annabelle L. Robertson; and brother, John A. Robertson.
