Eleanor L. Bain, 99

Eleanor L. Bain, 99, of Divernon, previously of Carlinville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at her home.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Rural Methodist Church in Carlinville. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Braden Parks officiating. Burial will follow  in Rural Cemetery in Carlinville. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bain was born on Dec. 13, 1925, in Carlinville, a daughter of Paul and Geraldine Grace (Harkey) Konneker. She married Wayne E. Bain on Nov. 14, 1942, at the Carlinville Rural Methodist Church.

She spent her career as a factory worker, having been employed at Brown Shoe Factory and Roller Derby, as well as at Sidneys, all in Litchfield. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She loved bluebirds and spending time with family. She liked to travel and read and loved animals.

Mrs. Bain is survived by her daughters, Connie Keller of Divernon, Linda (James) Wright of Litchfield, Gayle (John) Hanafin of Litchfield and Marsha (Mark) Heironimus of Angleton, TX; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Robert Bain; a grandson; and her brother, Gerald Konneker.

Memorials may be made to Rural Cemetery.
