Cory J. Edge, 36, of Virden, died on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at his residence.
Per Mr. Edge’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Edge was born on March 25, 1989, in Murfreesboro, TN, the son of Timothy and Melissa (Kirby) Edge. He attended Raymond High School. He worked several jobs after high school, including maintenance and cooking. Mr. Edge loved to cook for family and go camping and was learning the trade of flooring and finishing various floor coverings. He always looked forward to family time. He will be dearly missed.
Mr. Edge is survived by his parents, Melissa Edge of Hillsboro and Timothy Edge of Farmersville; his two children, Kyle and Coltyn Edge of Wilsonville; his siblings, Natalie Kirby of Hillsboro, Amber Edge of Carlinville and Brittany Longwell of Litchfield; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Rinehart; paternal grandparents, Donna Elliott (Leroy Edge); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Steven Kirby.
