Barbara Fay Kamman, 92, of Naples, FL, originally from Litchfield, died on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital with her family by her side.
At the family’s request, a private memorial service will be arranged and held at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.
Mrs. Kamman was born on Dec. 14, 1932, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Eric P. Null and Elizabeth R. (Hargis) Null. She married Randolph “Randy” L. Kamman on March 23, 1952, in St. Louis, MO.
In 1960, the couple moved to Litchfield, where they founded Capri Foods, Inc. They opened their first store, Capri IGA, on Dec. 12, 1960, and later expanded with additional locations in Hillsboro, Greenville, Pana and Jerseyville. Mrs. Kamman played an essential role in the business for 57 years.
Mrs. Kamman will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking and her gift for hospitality. She delighted in entertaining family and friends, especially during summer BBQs at their home in Litchfield. In later years, she continued this tradition at her home in Naples, FL, where she cherished living near the Gulf.
Mrs. Kamman is survived by her son, Dennis Riley Kamman (Susan) of O’Fallon, MO, and her daughter, Debra Kamman (Randolph) Vasel of Greenville; three grandchildren, Randalynn F. Vasel, Kyle W. (Melissa) Vasel and Kendall F. Kamman; one stepgrandchild, Kate N. (Scott) Lovelady; five great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth A. Meier of Greenville; and brother, Henry W. Null (Jennifer) of San Diego, CA.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kamman was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph L. Kamman; and her siblings, Phillip A. Null, Charles W. Null, Sarah L. Ganaway, and Rhoda J. White.
