Annabelle Vericker, 97, of North Pekin, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Paisley Manor in Pekin.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis, with Gene Delahunt officiating. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Vericker was born on March 12, 1928, in rural Montgomery County, the daughter of Paul and Elsie Mae (Jackson) Delahunt. She married Clement Vericker in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a woman of many talents and a generous heart. She loved flowers and took great joy in gardening, finding peace in nurturing the beauty around her. She was a die-hard Cubs fan and an avid reader. She was rarely without a book. She was known by her family as an immaculate and devoted caregiver, always tending lovingly to those she cared for.

In her working years, Mrs. Vericker was first employed at the American Distillery, a place she truly enjoyed and took great pride in. She later worked as a baker, a role that perfectly reflected her patience, skill and love of providing for others. Outside of work, she was highly creative and enjoyed looming and making rugs, crocheting and crafting, filling her home and the homes of loved ones with handmade treasures.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, creativity and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of many.

Mrs. Vericker is survived by her sons, Clement Vericker of St. Pete Beach, FL, and Butch (Sandy) Vericker of Florida; daughter, Barbara (Jim) Vericker of Washington State; grandchildren, Ben Van Winkle, John Vericker, David Vericker, Andrew Vericker, Joseph Clagett and Hunter Clagett; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Arkebauer of Nokomis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Robert Vericker and Steve Vericker; brothers, Homer Delahunt, Robert Delahunt and Charles Delahunt; and sister, Mary McKee.
