Wanda Greenwood, 85, of Litchfield, died on Friday, April 14, 2023, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service.
Mrs. Greenwood was born July 16, 1937, in Litchfield, to Richard and Thelma Heaton. She married Eugene Greenwood, and he preceded her in death.
During her career, she served as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for several local nursing homes, and loved her job. She enjoyed helping people and working on community projects. Her favorite pastime was visiting with friends at Jubelt’s.
Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her daughter, Clara Grinn of Litchfield; sons, Donald Greenwood of Litchfield and Lawrence (Heidi) Swofford of Taylor Springs; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; children, Eugene Jr., Michael, Donald, Robert and Larry Greenwood; brothers, Glenn and Charles Heaton; and sister, Deloris Kahle.
