Walshville’s Travis Lentz picked up a win at King of the Mountain in Canaan, IN, on May 16, round four of the IXCR off-road motorcycle racing series.
Lentz competed in the 65cc (7-12) class and completed five laps in a time of 1:03:43, 41 seconds faster than second place finisher Hunter Carey of Aurora, IN. Not only was that the fastest time in his class, but it also put Lentz 10th overall in youth bikes out of 84 riders.
Lentz would win again in round five of the series, the Popcorn XC in Springville, IN, on June 13.
Going up against 20 other riders in the 65cc (7-12) class, Lentz ran a 50:16 for four laps, beating Charlie Holland of Cold Springs, KY, by five seconds.
With four wins in five races, Lentz is currently first in the 65cc class with 102 points, three more than Carey, who has been second to Lentz in three races. Round six of the IXCR series will be held on July 17-18, with the Oliver Brothers XC in Russilville, IN.
