Vickie Lynn Cherry, 65, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at 9:30 p.m. at Alhambra Rehab & Healthcare in Alhambra.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Coffeen Free Methodist Church, located at 207 S. Church Street in Coffeen, on Saturday, Jan. 27,at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Cherry was born March 29, 1958 in Hillsboro, to Myrl and Betty Jean (Collins) Gurley. She lived in Hillsboro area all her life and graduated from Hillsboro High School. She went on to become a nurse. She married Ned Huber and they later divorced. She was a member of Free Methodist Church in Coffeen. Mrs. Cherry enjoyed going to church and listening to music.
Mrs. Cherry is survived by her mother, Betty Gurley; son, Eric (Nicole) Huber of Coffeen; four grandchildren, Hannah Huber, Mason Huber, Jake Huber and Lilly Huber; and two great-grandchildren, Harlow and Eleanor.
She is preceded in death by her father; two sons, Matthew Huber and Jacob Huber; grandson, Devin Cruthis; and sister, Cheryl Payne.
