Harry Leslie Diamond, 78, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in St. Louis, MO. 

Visitation will be held at Plummer Funreal Home in Litchfield on Thursday, March 12, from 4 to 7p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Deacon Lee Johns of Holy Family Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Diamond was born in Staten Island, NY, on July 17, 1947, a son of Albert Deane and Catherine “Kay” (Santoro) Diamond. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1965. He married the former Christina Catherine Roach on July 2, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Litchfield, and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from March of 1967 to March of 1968. He was assigned to the First Infantry Division, “Big Red One” Company A, 16th Infantry, Second Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart in August of 1967. 

Following his service, he went to trade school, where he learned to become a mechanic. He later opened his own shop, Diamond Auto and R.V., and expanded it into Diamond Trailer Sales. He, along with his wife, co-owned Lazy Days Campground and Rustic Acres Campground. He finished his career working at Nail’s Power Equipment for twenty years until his retirement. In his personal time, he enjoyed vacationing in Canada (particularly Ontario), visiting casinos, flying his drone and collecting classic cars. He held memberships in American Legion Post #436 in Litchfield and the Mt. Olive VFW Post #5790.

Mr. Diamond is survived by his children, Darlene (Michael) Bushue of Allenspark, CO, Andrew (Jacquelyn) Diamond of Las Cruces, NM, Matthew Diamond of Alton and Michelle (Archie, Jr.) DeWitt of Litchfield; grandchildren, Lauren (Dylan) Leonard, Hayden Diamond, Grace (Cameron) Rainey, Austin DeWitt, Madison Diamond and Tyler Diamond; stepgrandchildren, Steve DeWitt and Levi Bushue; and great-grandchildren, Harrison, Amelia and Hudson.

In addition to his wife, Christina, he was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Albert Diamond.
