Two people are dead following a shooting in Nokomis on Friday evening, March 15, shortly after 10 p.m.
Nokomis Police Chief Talon Burton said the investigation into the incident is still in its preliminary stages.
He said at this point, it appears that Summer Eller,a 22-year-old female employee of Dollar General was allegedly shot and killed by an estranged boyfriend, age 47. Chief Burton said the suspect then turned the gun on himself. He died later at a hospital in Springfield. His name has not been released at this time.
