Theresa (Fulk) Stade, 57, of Divernon died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at 2:14 a.m. at her home in Divernon surrounded by her family.
Funeral service was held on Friday, Sept. 18, officiated by Margaret Ann Jessup. Burial took place in Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg.
Ms. Stade was born on June 5, 1969, in Springfield, the daughter of Hallie and Janet (Harrell) Fulk. She graduated from Morrisonville High School in the class of 1987. She attended Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, Lincoln Land Community College and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1992. She also spent one year of clinical training at Good Samaritan Hospital School of Medical Technology in Vincennes, IN.
She was married for 25 years and had three children, Adam, Aubrey and Lauren. She worked at Springfield Memorial Hospital for 34 years and made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, planting and growing flowers, watching scary movies, going on road trips and snuggling with her dogs. Her lifelong dream was to adopt the longest residing dog at the animal shelter and give it a loving home. She also wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.
Ms. Stade will be remembered for her love and loyalty of family, friends, her love of all animals except for birds, buying an abundance of candles, fingernail polish and her fierce protectiveness for all those she loved.
Ms. Stade is survived by her children, Adam (Ali) Stade, Aubrey Stade and Lauren (Hunter) Newbold; grandchildren, Brant and Daisy; brother, Butch (Sally) Fulk; sister; Kristi (Fred) Owsley; nieces, Kylie (Dalton) Brooks and Kailyn Fulk; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and her dogs, Beau and Ty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Herschel and Viola Fulk and Eldo and Emily Harrell; her beautiful and beloved granddaughter, June Dallas Peden-Stade; and her dog, Gracie.
Memorials may be made to the Journey Like June Foundation, to a local animal shelter or donate blood in her memory.
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
