Stella Margaret Potocki, 94, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor Springs.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Daniel Willenborg presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Royalton at 2:45 p.m., with the Rev. Eusebius Mbidoake presiding.
Mrs. Potocki was born May 31, 1931, as one of six children to James and Irene (Hall) Prather in Coella. She married Matthew Potocki on September 11, 1948, in Murphysboro. They were married 66 years until his passing on September 19, 2014.
Mrs. Potocki was mostly busy raising her family, but for several years she was employed by Staunton Cleaners in Staunton and she also found time to waitress at various restaurants over the years. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Potocki is survived by daughters, Helen (Gerry) Tsupros of Alsea, OR, and Irene Potocki of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Nicholas (Dawn) Geninatti, Yvonne (Ben) Duncan, Isaac (Tonya) Geninatti, Alicia (Brock) Aumiller, Seth (Melissa) Geninatti and Adam Geninatti; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Potocki was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Matthew J. Potocki, Jr.; brothers; James Prather, John Prather, Ross Prather and Charles Prather; and sister, Peggy Ramsey.
