Shaun William Morgan, 35, of Litchfield, died on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at his residence.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Mr. Morgan was born June 30, 1987, to David and Ann (Thacker) Morgan. He married Chenrith Manuel Alargarbes on Aug. 27, 2009, in Kansas, and she survives.
He graduated with high honors from Litchfield High School with the class of 2005. He then attended Illinois College in Jacksonville. While there, he was part of the wrestling team and worked at the College of the Deaf.
On Aug. 8, 2007, Mr. Morgan enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving with the Infantry Rifle Co B FC. During his service time, he earned several medals. He served one term in Iraq and was honorably discharged on Oct. 20, 2010. While serving in the military, he met and married his wife.
After leaving the military, he went on to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville from 2012 to 2015. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and an associate’s degree in exercise science.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Morgan is survived by his daughters, Kiera Ahriana and Kenzley Avary Morgan; parents of Carlinville; brother, David (Mary-Ellen) Morgan; maternal grandmother, Carol Varner; three nephews, Keaton, Kole and Kooper Morgan; nieces, Kayleigh Morgan and Samantha Chloe Alagarbes; mother-in-law, Nancy Alagarbes; brother-in-law, Albany Alagarbes; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Pat Thacker; and paternal grandparents, Don and Diane Morgan.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a trust account for his daughters.
