Ruth Marie List, 91, of Litchfield, died on Sat., Jan. 8, 2022, at 12:50 p.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Kraemer of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Mrs. List was born on Oct. 28, 1930, in North Litchfield Township in Litchfield, a daughter of Charles William and Lena Elizabeth (Jackson) Fouts. She married Leo Victor List on Sept. 11, 1948, in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1994.
During her lifetime, Mrs. List worked at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for 39 years. A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, she was active in the Zion Ladies Aid and enjoyed making Lutheran World Relief Quilts. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening. Always willing to lend a hand to others, Mrs. List especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Floyd (Helen) List of New Port Richey, FL and David (Cathy) List of Litchfield; two daughters, Gail Hunter of Taylor Springs and Sherry (Warren) Hays of Girard; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles List and three brothers, Louis Fouts, Charles P. Fouts and Iva R. Fouts.
