Robert ‘Bob’ Lee Lemon, 87, died the evening of Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Private family services will be held with military honors. Plummer Funeral Home is serving the family.
Mr. Lemon was born in Butler on Oct. 1, 1938, a son of Russell Beecher and Mary Adeline (Widner) Lemon. He married the former Donna Jean Walz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Litchfield on Dec. 10, 1960, and she survives. He was employed for many years as a branch manager for Western Waterproofing Company until his retirement in 2003. He was a skilled horseman, owning several award-winning gaming horses, namely Tennessee and Showdown.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting and was an avid mushroom hunter. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in rural Litchfield. Additionally, he was a member of the Illinois National Guard.
Mr. Lemon is survived by wife, Donna Lemon of Litchfield; sons, Darren (Donna) Lemon of Hopewell and Jason (Amanda Lemon of Butler; sisters-in-law, Patricia (the late, Carl) Durbin of Morrisonville and Sue (Tom) Billiter of Litchfield; grandchildren, Adam Lemon, Tucker Lemon, Ryder Lemon and Rumer Lemon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary Lemon; brothers, LeRoy Lemon and Paul Lemon; and sisters-in-law, Deloris Lemon and Barbara Lemon.
