Robert Huston McQueen, 69, of Morrisonville, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Morrisonville. The funeral ceremony will be Friday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Chad Foster officiating. Interment will follow the ceremony at Morrisonville Cemetery.

Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McQueen was born July 6, 1952, in South Bend, IN, the son of Theodore and Helen (McNay) McQueen.He married Sandra Hibbard on Oct. 4, 1974.

While in the fourth grade, Mr. McQueen moved with his family to Quincy, then settled on a farm in Payson. He worked the farm as a child and graduated from Payson-Seymour High School. He worked for George Keller and Sons, assisting with veterinary work. He later accepted a position with Farm & Home in Quincy and turned it into a lifelong career. He later transferred to the Springfield store and became district manager and buyer for Big R in Springfield, Taylorville and Lincoln. Mr. McQueen was active at the First Baptist Church in Morrisonville, serving as a deacon and being involved in mission trips and youth groups. He was an avid sports fan and competitor, competing in several different racquetball, basketball, slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball leagues over the years. He loved his family, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, of Morrisonville; children Robert Corey (wife Katie) McQueen, of Virden, Erin (husband Jeffrey) Willis, of Middletown, and Bethany (Brittney) Gallivan, of Chatham; grandchildren Cole, Carter, Kayli, Crosby and Adalynn; twin brother Ronald McQueen, of Seattle, WA; brother LeRoy (wife Pat) McQueen, of Gulf Port, MS; sister Diane (husband Willard) Franks, of Millbrook, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McQueen was preceded in death by his parents.
