Patricia “Pat” Anne Traylor, 81, of Atwater, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died peacefully at her home on June 9, 2026.

In accordance with her wishes, a private Memorial Mass will be held. She and her husband, Ed, will be laid to rest together at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Atwater.

Mrs. Traylor was born on Sept. 2, 1944, in Springfield, to Elmer Eugene and Mary Agnes (Clarke) McAnarney. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1962 and later worked for the Birth to Three Clearing House in Springfield.

On July 25, 1964, she married Charles “Ed” Traylor, the love of her life. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter and family, raising their two daughters, Lori and Angie.

Mrs. Traylor found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, tending to her yard and garden and shopping. She took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home, one that became a gathering place for family and friends. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with those she loved, whether traveling to visit them or welcoming them into her home for extended stays. Her beloved cat, Charlie, was a cherished companion who brought her much comfort and joy.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Kyle Wilson) Traylor of Knoxville, TN, and Angie Traylor of Atwater; grandchildren, Kelsey Hickman (fiancé Corbin Cagle) and Luke Hickman, both of Nashville, TN; sister, Mary Katherine “Kate” (Paul) McLean of Chesterfield, MO; brothers-in-law, Rick Nemeth of California and Mike Nemeth of Idaho; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Mrs. Traylor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed; parents, Elmer and Mary Agnes McAnarney; brother, Howard McAnarney; sisters, Barbara Jacobs and Monica McAnarney; and in-laws, Dorthea Anderson and Gary Nemeth.
