Old Settlers Making Plans For This Year

The Old Settlers Association voted on Tuesday, May 4, to go forward with planning this year’s event in anticipation of COVID-19 restrictions being relaxed by August.

Old Settlers is set to kick off on Sunday, Aug. 1, with the annual car show and continue on Wednesday, Aug. 4 and Thursday, Aug. 5.

The Sew and Show Quilt Guild has opted to not do their quilt show this year and other events may need to be revamped.

Suggestions are needed for the 2021 big parade theme. Email suggestions to segaler@hotmail.com. A $50 prize will be awarded for the winning selection. The kiddie parade theme will be announced by the Rotary Club at a later date.

Any eligible young lady wishing to run for Old Settlers queen should stop by the high school office for more information. Details for Little and Junior Miss contests will be published as soon as they are finalized.

Many more volunteers will be needed to make Old Settlers 2021 happen. The committee will meet again on Tuesday, June 1, with the meeting place to be announced.
