It was a new track, but a familiar result for Cooper and Zach Duff this weekend as the brothers raced at Megacross in Mendota on Sept. 5.
The track first opened in 1993, but Saturday’s race was the first time the brothers had competed on the dirt in Mendota.
The lack of familiarity was no problem for either of the Duffs as Cooper took first in the 65cc Senior class, while Zach was third in the 85cc Senior class.
The next Megacross event in Mendota is scheduled for Sept. 26, but both boys will be at the next District 17 hare scrambles this Sunday, Sept. 13, in White City with the Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders. While he’s only been able to race three times, Cooper Duff is currently seventh in the 65cc hare scramble standings in District 17.
