Naoma Marie (Geist) Lowe, 90, of Florence, SC, died on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in the Florence Baptist Temple Chapel. Dr. Bill Monroe will officiate with burial to follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lowe was born on Feb. 5, 1936, in Penalosa, KS, a daughter of the late Wilbur Franklin Geist and the late Mildred Marie VanRiper. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple. Her faith was very important to her as she had taken many mission trips in the U.S. and abroad with her late husband, Donald. The two of them were also involved in mission efforts through The Salvation Army over the years.
Mrs. Lowe enjoyed gardening and taking sailboat trips. She was very hospitable and always made others feel welcome. She loved her family and her grandchildren brought her great joy.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by her niece, Debbie (Brian) Atkins of Hillsboro; sons, David (Brenda) Lowe, Phillip (Ashley) Lowe and Steven (Ann) Lowe; daughter, Susan (Thadis, Jr.) Thompson; grandchildren, David (Audra) Lowe, Jr., Daniel (Trysti) Lowe, Deanna (Eric) Torres, Derek (Lexi) Lowe, Kristen Lowe, Hunter (Kara Ann) Lowe, Drake (Kate) Lowe, Abby Thompson, Ross Thompson, Sean Fogner, Chris (Amanda) Fogner, Morgan (George) Magee, Eli Fogner, Robert (Brittney) Thompson; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lowe; brother, LaRay Edward (Ginger) Geist; and sister, Wilberta Mae (Gary) Webb of Hillsboro.
