Nancy Carol Newby, 66, of Gillespie, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 5:17 a.m.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 24, at Gillespie Cemetery.
Mrs. Newby was born November 29, 1959, in Litchfield, to Samuel William Davidson and Carol Lee Hyde Davidson. She married Terry Lee Newby on May 31, 1988. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2000.
Mrs. Newby was retired after having been a district manager for Fas Mart. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed latch hook and cooking shows. She loved football, especially the New Orleans Saints.
Mrs. Newby is survived by her children, Tom (Sarah) Withee of Dorsey, Amy Withee of Gillespie, Micah Newby of Glen Carbon, and Brandon Newby of Glen Carbon; grandchildren, Emily Taylor, Torah Withee, Wren Withee; and brother, Bill (Becky) Davidson of Mt. Olive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and sister, Karen Boatman.
