Mary Von (Kimbro) Rikli, 93, of Hillsboro, died at 10:32 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Montgomery Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 23, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Matt Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be at Donnellson Cemetery.

Mrs. Rikli was born on Sept. 5, 1930 in rural Hillsboro, the daughter of the late George Frederick and Mary Ann (Elmore) Kimbro. She attended Holmes rural grade school and graduated from Hillsboro Community High School in 1948.  After graduation, Mrs. Rikli worked at the Springfield State Capital and Montgomery County National Bank in Hillsboro.

On Sept. 4, 1952, she married Robert Rikli from Highland at Waveland Presbyterian Church in rural Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death in October 2012. She was a member of the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, a former Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader and member of Farm Bureau Women. 

Mrs. Rikli is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Marty) Niehaus of Hillsboro, Carol (Mike) Ellsworth of Pocahontas and Susan Rikli; grandchildren Karla (Pasquale) Italiano, Renee (Josh) Gulledge, Robin (Peter) Kim, Clayton (Kristi) Ellsworth, Nathan (Claire) Ellsworth and Valerie (Kale) Barmes;  great-grandchildren Louisa Italiano, Levi Gulledge, Cora Ellsworth, Thomas Kim, Clara Italiano, Gloria Italiano, Selah Gulledge, Daniel Kim, Casey Ellsworth, Verity Ellsworth, Gracelyn Gulledge, Charlotte Barmes, Moriah Gulledge, Cassidy Ellsworth, Anna Kim, Ansel Ellsworth, Marshall Barmes and Conan Ellsworth;  and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Kimbro; and siblings, Euris Kimbro, Dorothy Elam, Lila Austin and Clinton Kimbro.
