Mary ‘Pauline’ McLeod, 82

Mary “Pauline” McLeod, 82, of Nokomis, died comfortably in her home on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be held at a later date. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. McLeod was born Nov. 2, 1940, in Covington, TN, to Andrew and Edith (Pruitt) Golden. 

She graduated from high school and later moved to Sterling, where she met and married her first husband, Don Hayes, and he preceded her in death. She moved to San Diego, CA, where she met and married, Robert “Bob” Evan McLeod, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. McLeod was a strong, independent and self-employed woman for most of her early life. She and her husband Bob ran a family custom-made furniture business specializing in bean bag chairs.

She later went to work for Viejas Casino in Alpine, CA, for several years. She moved to Nokomis in 2007 to be closer to her family.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by her son, Daniel D. (Diane) Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Courtney B. (Scott) McLeod-Robinson of Nokomis; brothers, Paul Golden and Roger Golden, both of Hillsboro; sister, Carolyn Golden Baser of Mounds, OK; grandchildren, Aaron Scott Robinson of Nokomis, Paulina Goodman and Katie Hayes Davis, both of San Diego, CA, Amanda Willey and Trevor Hayes, both of Boston, MA, Connie Hayes Bray and Madeline Hayes Gordon, both of Utah, and Heather Hayes Turnball of Carlsbad, CA; great-grandchildren, Aiden Turnbull, Ethan Turnbull, Tessa Turnbull, Bethany Willey, Shea Willey, Amelia Willey, Lilly Hayes, Daniel Hayes, Millie Gorden, McKenzie Gorden, Zoey Gorden and Livie Gorden.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Faye Golden, Donna K. Golden Kohvakka and Janice Golden; and brother, Sam Golden.
