Mrs. Bergman was born to Julius Virgil and Elisa Clair Stogsdill on March 2, 1931, in Crocker, MO.  She graduated from Troy High School.

After moving to Raymond to work with her aunt, she met Joseph A. Bergman and they married on April 22, 1949.  They remained happily married for 58 years until his death in 2008.

Mrs. Bergman was a devoted Christian throughout her life and faithfully loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ. Her family was the joy of her life, and she remained deeply interested in each family member’s life until her final days. She was a proud grandmother to Angie White (Dan), Doug Skinner (Kari), Holly Ferrill, Tara Brown (Rex), James Bergman (Shelly), Lisa Stewart (Jeff), Joseph Roth (Maria), Joy Roemer (Sean) and Leslie Hooper.

She also cherished her great-grandchildren; Miles and Seth White, Noah Skinner (Maddie), Lucas and Kassie Skinner, Jamie Ferrill (Alexa), Landon Ferrill (Claire), Isaac Ferrill (Laney), Morgan Milner, Olivia and Ella Brown, Elodie and Titus Roth, Jack and Claire Roemer, Chace and Cortney Stewart, Zeith and Zyler; and many beloved great-great-grandchildren. She faithfully remembered birthdays, milestones and the activities of each one, making every member of her growing family feel loved and special.

For 28 years, Mrs. Bergman owned and operated Bergman’s Bakery in Raymond alongside her husband, Joe. Together they built not only a successful business but also lasting friendships throughout the community. Before opening the bakery, she worked as a waitress at the White Cottage and Spring Air. She and her husband were lifelong residents of Raymond, where they knew and loved generations of local families.

She was a faithful member of the Raymond Christian Church and volunteered at the MAC-Gomery Christian Service Camp.

Mrs. Bergman is survived by her son, James A. Bergman Sr. (Emma); and her daughter, Anita Jean Roth (Doyle). In addition to children and grandchildren, she is survived by her loving sister, Betty Turner (Buck); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Stogsdill (Nan); her sister, Barbara Martin (Uncle Martin); her son, William J. Bergman (Joyce); and her daughter, Mary Luanne Stewart (Greg).

Memorials may be made to the MAC-Gomery Christian Service Camp or the Raymond Christian Church.
