Mary E. Cravens, 90, of Hillsboro, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mrs. Cravens was born on Dec. 30, 1930, in Middletown, to Melvin and Hazel (Whitman) Booker. Her stepfather was Edgar Hainline. She married Arnold V. Cravens on Dec. 24, 1975, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2002.
During her career, she worked in housekeeping at community care centers and home health. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Eagles Post 2708, both in Lincoln.
Mrs. Cravens is survived by her children, Tom Bruce of Lincoln, Dorothy Campbell of Mt. View, MO, Beverly Creel and Charlotte Lane, both of Hillsboro; sister, Hazel Butler of Maroa; stepbrother, Nelson Hainline of Missouri; grandchildren, John Grimsley, Barbara Vogel, Charles Peoples, Marsha McBade and Teresa Mardock; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles and Tommy Garr; three sisters; and four brothers.
