Mary E. (Newhouse) Bruhn, 102, of Staunton, died at 10:24 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at the Community Hospital of Staunton.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., following visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Nancy Hubert officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
Mrs. Bruhn was born May 28, 1924, in Beason, the daughter of the late George J. and Cora L. (O’Mara) Newhouse. She married Elmer J. Bruhn on Oct. 5, 1944 in Lincoln and he passed away on July 23, 2000.
She was a member of Staunton Methodist Church, Staunton Senior Citizens, Mt. Olive Senior Citizens and AARP Chapter #1179. She worked as a teller at First National Bank in Staunton for many years.
Mrs. Bruhn is survived by her son, Dale E. (Carol) Bruhn of Litchfield; her grandchildren, Cara Bruhn of Greenville, Derrick (Lynne) Bruhn of Monticello and Kelly Masterson (significant other Brent) of Defiance, MO; two great-grandchildren, Mabry and Mylin Bruhn of Monticello; daughter-in-law, Cathy Meyers of Staunton; step-grandchildren, Keith (Kelly) Meyers of Staunton, Kelly (Dennis) Lowder of Staunton and Jessica (Cale) Henke of Edwardsville; and five step-great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Kayce, Dylan, Dalton and Jackson.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Bruhn (2001) and George Bruhn (2014); daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bruhn; great-granddaughter, Morley Bruhn; step-grandson, Jacob; and step-great-granddaughter, Lainey; four sisters; and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Staunton Methodist Church.
