Luretta N. Satterlee, 86

Luretta N. (Newcum) Satterlee, 86, of Coffeen, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 3:18 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

A private family funeral service will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen with the Rev. Ralph Ward of Hillsboro officiating. Burial will be held in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Satterlee was born July 29, 1934, outside of Ramsey, to the late Fred and Vera (Casey) Newcum. She married Houston E. Satterlee on Aug. 14, 1954, at the Methodist Church in Coffeen, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2020.

A 1952 graduate of Coffeen High School, she lived in Coffeen her entire life. She was a bank teller at Montgomery County National Bank, as well as the city clerk in Coffeen for 28 years. She was an Eastern Star member, an avid reader, a baby-sitter for all of the neighborhood kids, an avid Cardinals fan, and she loved spending time with family.

Mrs. Satterlee is survived by her children, Vickie (husband Richard) Lovellette of Litchfield, Gary (wife Julee) Satterlee of Hillsboro, Donna Satterlee of Litchfield and Hugh (wife Angie) Satterlee of Coffeen; six grandchildren, Luke Satterlee, Erika Satterlee, Erin Satterlee, Sarah Kim, John Kim and Alesia Pierce; and three great-grandchildren, Charlie Elise Satterlee, Finlay Von Satterlee and Nathan August Schmidt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Newcum, Jr.

Memorials may be made to the Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.
