Lucille Gorsage, 91

Lucille (McDonough) Carlock Gorsage, 91, of Coffeen, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 at 12:05 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. and the burial following at Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.  Mark Noyes will officiate.

Mrs. Gorsage was born Aug. 4, 1932 in Fayette County to the late Ted and Verna (Stewart) McDonough. She was a Coffeen High School graduate and obtained her BA in Education at McKendree College in Lebanon. She worked as a school teacher at Fillmore and Coffeen Grade Schools for 30 plus years. She married Mr. Clyde Carlock on June 10, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1967. She then married Mr. Robert Gorsage on Aug. 23, 1971 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2002. She held memberships to Montgomery County Retired Teachers, Rockyford Park Coffeen, and board of Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen for several years. She loved to quilt and loved her cats.

Mrs. Gorsage is survived by her daughter, Beverly Whalen of Coffeen; three grandchildren, Ann Whalen, Mark Whalen and John Whalen; one great-grandchild, Hunter Whalen; and sister, Linda (Mike) Seaton of Fillmore.

She is preceded by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Evelyn Carlock; and sister, Lora McDonough.
