Linda (Voyles) Brust, 73, of Springfield, died on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 10:29 p.m. at Regency Care in Springfield.
Cremation rites were accorded. A private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Lincoln Land Cremation Society in Springfield is assisting the family.
Ms. Brust was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Springfield, to Benjamin Franklin and Ivy Rosella (Cline) Voyles.
She graduated from Springfield High School and proudly served her country in the U.S. Army.
During her career, Ms. Brust worked for the State of Illinois and Springfield Park District until her retirement.
She was a past member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards, especially pinochle. Above all else, she enjoyed being with her family.
Ms. Brust is survived by her sons, Joseph (Brittany) Genovese of Springfield and Thomas (Lisa) Rash of Warrenville; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Caldwell of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Benjamin Caldwell, Maria Genovese, Brandon Caldwell, Ethan Rash and Vito Genovese; great-granddaughter, June Hults; brother, Dale (Nancy) Voyles of Sun City, AZ; one niece; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
